A warm hello from a bright and breezy Cardiff!
Sadly, the team at Paperclip HQ haven't had much time to enjoy the sunshine these last few weeks...
From UCL to KCLSU
Earlier this month we were finally able to announce our new partnership with University College London. After our success launching the Swansea University School of Management marketplace, we reached out to the team at UCL Students' Union to pitch the concept of their students having their own marketplace where they can buy, sell and swap their old textbooks, study materials and bric-a-brac in a trusted local community, without those annoying listing and transaction fees.
After careful consideration from the UCL Students' Union team, we were given the opportunity to design and build their bespoke marketplace. Within a few days, the marketplace was live and, with the help of our Student Brand Ambassadors, we began onboarding students.
Word travels quick in the city and before long we found ourselves pitching to the team at KCLSU - the King's College London Students' Union.
Fortunately, we given the opportunity to deliver another bespoke marketplace to another Russell Group university!
Creating the marketplace
That Monday, our entire Dev team (even our team in Brno) were in at Paperclip HQ to begin developing the new KCLSU marketplace.

The Dev team (and Alan) working hard on the new KCLSU marketplace
By the end of the week, the new marketplace had been successfully designed, built and tested.
Meanwhile, our in-house design team crafted some great marketing assets for use around the campus. Making use of the university's digital screens, display boards and social media channels, both Head of Design Steve and Junior Designer Ana where able to create a bold, beautiful and effective campaign to let students know about their brand new marketplace.

The new KCLSU marketplace
Days later, the team welcomed their first student ambassador! Italian BA Management student Nicole reached out to us online and began spreading the word around campus. The following week she linked up with our CMO Laurence and COO Alan on Guy's campus to help us reach out to students directly and the results were astonishing! Hundreds of students signed up on the day, with more jumping on board in the following days.
Speaking about the new marketplace, our CMO Laurence said "It's great to be working with the team at KCLSU. The development team have worked hard to get the marketplace up and running and it's great to see students signing-up, adding items and creating a buzzing online community."
